Mohammed Bukar, a Yobe State House of Representatives candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has gone away.
In Yobe State's Gulani, Gujba, Tarmuwa, and Damaturu Federal Constituency, Bukar was the party's nominee.
His passing was announced on Saturday night.
He passed away in the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital, where he had been bedridden for some time, according to a family source.
He was claimed to have passed away from a liver condition.
Before his passing, the former labour leader visited hospitals frequently in India and Nigeria, according to family sources.
