Two days after a disagreement with one of the artists on the label, Wande Coal, on November 5, 2013, the musician decided to leave the label. Don Jazzy is credited with producing the song "Arise," performed by Reekado Banks and Di'Ja and released in September 2014.
An argument broke out between Don Jazzy and Olamide during the 2015 Headies Awards. The two couldn't agree on who should have been the "Next Rated" winner. Y.B.N.L.'s Lil Kesh was defeated by Mavin's Reekado Banks. The prize was a vehicle for the winner. Both parties later issued public apologies for the incident.
When Reekado Banks left the Mavin Records label, Don Jazzy praised him for his time there and said he was still part of the family, wishing him the best in his future endeavours. He brought Rema onto the Mavins Record Label in 2019 and signed Ayra Starr the following year. The name of his new 2021 artist was revealed to be Magixx.
